Former 800 and 1500m world champion Caster Semenya misses the Doha World Cup later this month because of the International Athletics Association's new rule, which limits testosterone levels in female athletes.

Now it is clear that she is starting a new sport. She has been presented as a new player for JVW Football Club in South Africa.

- I am grateful for this opportunity and I appreciate the love and support I already get from the team. I am looking forward to this new trip, and hopefully I can contribute as much as possible to the club, ”she says on the club's website.

JVW ranks second in its series, aiming to qualify for the national top series which starts next year. Semenya will not be able to play until next season, when the transfer window has closed.
