“Everything is behind”: the court granted the request of Kokorin and Mamaev for parole

Alekseyevsky District Court of the Belgorod Region granted the petition of ex-striker Zenit Alexander Kokorin, his younger brother Kirill and midfielder of Krasnodar Pavel Mamaev on parole. All three convicts will be released on September 17, since, in accordance with the law, the decision comes into force 10 days after the verdict of the court.

The meeting was held behind closed doors in correctional colony No. 4, in connection with which journalists were not allowed into the territory of the correctional institution. Interestingly, the lawyers of the players and Kokorin-ml were not present in the courtroom. Igor Bushmanov, Andrei Romashov, Vyacheslav Barik and Tatyana Stukalova. Their interests were represented by Yuri Padalko.

Relatives of the Mamaev and Kokorins, as well as representatives of the head of the department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Pak, also refrained from traveling to the Belgorod region. His lawyer Natalya Shatikhina emphasized that the prosecution did not see the need to personally attend the court.

Padalko was satisfied with the decision. In an interview with TASS, he noted that his clients feel well and are looking forward to release.

“The guys are likely to return to the sport and continue their sports career. As for their relationship with football clubs, you need to find out from them after they leave the colony, ”said the lawyer.

In turn, the prosecutor's office did not interfere with the satisfaction of the application and file an appeal.

It is worth noting that parole is not completely exempt from liability for the crime, as convicts will continue to be limited in some rights. According to Barik, all these aspects will be spelled out in a judicial act.

“Absolutely, the guys will not be able to leave Russia without a case of special necessity. For example, due to the state of health of the released or relative to provide assistance. The court will set a specific time limit for this restriction. In addition, there is a special body that monitors the reporting and execution of sentences. The children will need to come and celebrate that they are doing well. They may be called, or they may come to check, ”the lawyer explained to Sport24.

At the same time, Igor Bushmanov emphasized that after the liberation of the players, the work of the team of lawyers will not end, since the defense side intends to continue to appeal the verdict.

“I hope that the higher constitutional instances will hear us and the sentence will be brought into line with the requirements of the law and taking into account the actual circumstances of the case. As for the European Court of Human Rights, Pavel and I considered it inappropriate to apply there. We believe that national methods of protection will be enough for us to bring the verdict in accordance with the requirements of the law and the circumstances that should be taken into account when considering the case, ”Mamaev’s lawyer quoted“ Championship ”as saying.

The deputy director of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) Valery Maksimenko called the court’s decision logical, since, according to him, the players and Kokorin-ml during their stay in the colony. showed their best side, and also showed good behavior.

In turn, the mother of the Kokorins brothers Svetlana admitted that she was moved when she found out about the positive outcome of the meeting.

“I already know that the guys were released. Thanks everybody! Finally it's all over. I don’t even have words. I do not know what to say. Such emotions. Will these 10 days be the hardest? I don’t even know, really. Everything is behind, ”Kokorina said.

Wife Mamaev Alana noted that the court decision coincided with important dates in her life.

“My birthday is tomorrow, and this is the best gift for me! And on Pashin’s birthday, he will have a way home, ”Mamaeva wrote.

Recall that on October 8, 2018, the brothers Kokorins, Mamaev and the children's coach Alexander Protasovitsky participated in two brawls in the center of Moscow, as a result of which, in addition to Pak, the driver of the TV presenter Olga Ushakova, Vitaly Solovchuk, and NAMI CEO Sergei Gaisin were injured. A Presnensky court found them guilty of assault and sentenced to imprisonment in a penal colony.

On August 3, 2019, the Alekseevsky District Court of the Belgorod Region received a petition for parole. At the same time, positive characteristics were provided both from the management of IK-4 and from the FSIN. The prosecution did not prevent the examination of the application, leaving the decision to the discretion of the court.
