Daniëlle van de Donk has mixed feelings about the Orange women's 3-0 win over Turkey. The midfielder is happy with the European Championship qualifying match won, but sees a lot of room for improvement.
"It is a bit double. We were not very strong and could be ten times better," said Van de Donk, who scored 2-0 with a great goal, after the match in Heerenveen with Veronica .
"It's a shame it didn't work out, although of course I'm very happy that we won 3-0. After two games we have a goal difference of 10-0. That's how it should be."
Halfway it was in the Abe Lenstra Stadium 1-0 by a goal from Stefanie van der Gragt. After Van de Donk's goal, Sherida Spitse made it 3-0 out of a penalty.
The victory followed four days after the start of the European Championship qualification, with Estonia beating no less than 0-7.

"Fatigue cannot be an excuse"
Van de Donk hopes that the Dutch will improve in the next games. "We were a bit more tired now, but that should not be an excuse," said the midfielder of Arsenal.
"After a lesser first half, we picked it up fairly well in the second half, but then the opponent didn't really want anymore and it was a matter of finishing.
She was not worried about placement for the European Championship of 2021. "We just have to be first in this group. It looks good for now and hopefully we will play better next time than tonight."
After the first two duels, the Orange Women are in the lead in group A. All group winners eventually qualify for the European Championship, just like the three best numbers two. The remaining numbers two play play-offs.
