Two days have passed since the horrible crash of Formula 2 at the Belgian Spa where French driver Anthoine Hubert lost his life.

The following day, on Sunday, the year's 13th Formula 1 race was run on the same track. Now Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo, who finished in 14th place in the race, admits he was considering canceling his participation as a result of Saturday's tragedy.

- The question arises: "Is it really worth it?", Says the Renault driver.

"Just car racing in circles"

The fatal accident was the first during a race weekend since Brazilian Ayrton Senna perished in San Marino's grand prix in 1994, the day after Austrian Roland Ratzenberger fatally crashed during training.

In July 2015, Frenchman Jules Bianchi died after injuries he sustained in Japan's grand prix in October of the previous year.

Bianchi was a close friend of Ricciardo who participated in the race which became his friend's last.

- In the end, it's a simple question, but also an honest one. It is our job, our professionalism and our life. But it's also just car racing in circles, says Ricciardo.

Honored with a silent minute

Anthoine Hubert was honored with a silent minute ahead of the F1 race on Sunday where among other Frenchman's brother and mother attended. A moment that made a strong impression on Ricciardo.

- I can't imagine being in their position. I felt they were much stronger than any of us.
