Arturo Vargas Lucas, 41, died Monday as a result of injuries that occurred on Saturday during an accident at the Motorland Alcañiz circuit, where he participated in the Open EasyRace category of the Spanish championship.
The pilot, from Madrid, was transferred by the sanitary services of the circuit to the Regional Hospital of Alcañiz and from there referred to the University Clinical Hospital of Zaragoza.
As a result of the injuries caused, Vargas Lucas died this morning, as confirmed in a press release from the facilities of MotorLand Aragón, whose leaders "deeply regret their loss" and convey their "most sincere condolences to the family, teammates and close friends of the athlete. "
