“Friendship in the private sector” despite the deterioration of Japan-Korea relations Exchange festival in South Korea September 1 18:36

As Japan-Korea relations worsened, an event was held in Korea to introduce the cultures of both countries and deepen friendship. Participants have heard that it is important to continue to interact with the private sector as the conflict between governments deepens.

This event is the “Japan-Korea Exchange Festival” held annually by the Executive Committee, which is organized by companies and organizations in Japan and Korea.

On the 1st day, children from both Japan and South Korea went on stage together to sing songs from each country and celebrated it. And South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lee Tae-ho, the second secretary, said, “The two countries have a history of overcoming each time they have difficulties, and it was the private exchange and mutual understanding formed by it.” In response, Mr. Suzuki, a Foreign Secretary who attended from Japan, responded, “It is extremely important to cherish the neighboring country and have a friendly feeling by actually seeing and understanding the other country.”

On the stage, traditional Japanese dance and Korean traditional music will be performed, and there will be a corner where you can try on kimono, Korean chimachogori, special products from all over Japan, and next year's Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. It was established and the people who visited were enjoying each one.

On the other hand, baggage inspections that were not possible before were carried out at the venue, and more security guards were assigned than usual, and the event was held while paying more attention to safety than usual.

A teenage Korean woman who visited the venue said, “I don't think there is a good relationship now, but I think it would be good if both countries could get close to each other and lead to the future.” The “Japan-Korea Exchange Festival” will be held in Tokyo from the 28th of this month.
