Feyenoord has secured the arrival of Marcos Senesi. The Argentinian defender is being taken over from San Lorenzo for more than six million euros.
The AD and De Telegraaf report this on Sunday. The 22-year-old Senesi was to undergo a medical examination on Monday, after which the presentation should follow later in the day.
Senesi came into action for San Lorenzo on Saturday-evening and then said a farewell to the supporters crying. The central defender played since his professional debut in 2016 for the club that plays at the highest Argentinian level and still had a contract until mid-2023.
Senesi was selected for the Argentinian national team this month and can make his debut next week in the friendly international match against Chile or Mexico. He also has an Italian passport.
Feyenoord already won defender Ié
Feyenoord previously strengthened this transfer period with central defender Edgar Ié. The Portuguese is rented from Trabzonspor and made a strong impression in his first duels for Feyenoord.
Senesi will have to compete further with Eric Botteghin and Sven van Beek. Jan-Arie van der Heijden seems to be on the point of leaving the Rotterdammers.
With three points from the first three games, Feyenoord had a bad start to the new season in the Eredivisie. The team of coach Jaap Stam qualified for the group stage of the Europa League.
