Bayern Munich, despite a goal from Jean-Paul Boëtius, beat FSV Mainz 05 with ample figures on Saturday. It was no less than 6-1 in the Allianz Arena, while coach Peter Bosz and Bayer Leverkusen remained at home against 1899 Hoffenheim from coach Alfred Schreuder at 0-0.
Boëtius gave Mainz 05 a 0-1 lead after six minutes against Bayern and that score remained half an hour on the scoreboard.
Benjamin Pavard signed for the home team's equalizer, and at the stroke of half-time David Alaba ensured with a free kick that Bayern took the lead 2-1 halfway. Via goals from Ivan Perisic, Kingsley Coman, Robert Lewandowski and Alphonso Davies, Bayern finished 6-1 after the break.
Seven minutes before time, when the final score was already on the scoreboard, Jeremiah St. Juste came in as a substitute for Mainz.
Because of the big win, Bayern comes out on seven points from three games. RB Leipzig, which won 1-3 with a hat trick from Timo Werner with Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-3, has two points more.
Borussia Dortmund can reach the same level as Leipzig on Saturday. The club from Dortmund plays at 6.30 pm against PhD student Union Berlin.
