The Swedes missed the World Cup medal


In 1986 Elisabeth Karlsson won Sweden's first and only World Cup medal in judo when she won the silver. Today her son, Marcus Nyman, had the chance to break the negative trend but fell in the bronze match in the 90-kilos class. The same goes for Anna Bernholm, who, through re-qualification, got the chance to clinch a bronze medal in the 70-kilos class, but failed.

Eight months after the comeback, Marcus Nyman was back and showed fine form. He drove over the world-crazy Krisztian Toth in the quarterfinals but fell snowfall in the extension in the semi-finals for passivity.
