Marie-Eve Gahié (-70 kg) was crowned world champion of judo for the first time, at 22, beating in less than a minute the Portuguese Barbara Timo in the final, Thursday in Tokyo, at one year of the Olympics -2020 in the Japanese capital.

Marie-Eve Gahié brings to the French team its third medal of the Japanese week, the second in gold after that won by Clarisse Agbegnenou (-63 kg) Wednesday. She will be accompanied on the podium by Margaux Pinot (25), bronze medalist moments earlier at the expense of Anna Bernholm (ippon) of Sweden.

Axel Clerget bronze in -90 kg
