Lars Selin has previously worked as a training manager within the Swedish Ski Association. A job he does not completely let go, but enters into a shared leadership with Karin Ersson as national team manager.

- It all came suddenly. I had to think both once and twice. But I really like being in the national team, Selin tells SVT Sport.

Selin and Ersson come to a national team that received many headlines during the summer. Linked to Peterson's farewell. But lately, Swedish skiing should not be adversely affected in the future.

"Felt like good atmosphere"

- Our intention is that this should not affect the riders. We have a limited time myself and Karin (Ersson). For us, the most important thing now is to obtain the best sporting conditions, the new national team manager develops.

But can the recent impact still affect?

- It shouldn't, Selin says.

How would you describe the mood in the group now?

- I haven't met the active ones yet. It has felt like a good atmosphere so far.

Shared leadership

The idea was that Jonas Peterson alone would lead the national team into the coming winter. But after his departure, there are now two national team managers. The division between Selin and Ersson is not yet complete.

- Our most important task is very much linked to logistics and organization. How we are going to divide it up is we are talking about right now. We will be communicating it pretty soon how it will be, ”Selin tells SVT Sport.

Words against words. It is still not clear how it went when Federal Director Ola Strömberg and Peterson no longer pulled evenly. But Selin does not want to repeat any risk of a similar scenario.

- We (Ola and I) have no different opinions. Karin and I will be working on this season. The main focus is Tour De Ski, Tour 2020 and the pre-World Cup in Oberstdorf. These are the most important competitions this season, concludes Selin.
