Lionel Messi is out of action against Osasuna in the Primera Liga on Saturday, the Spanish daily Marca said.

The newspaper said that Messi returned to training individually with the team's fitness coach, and is expected to return to the stadiums after the international suspension.

She pointed out that Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is not in a hurry to return Messi to the starting lineup, for fear of a setback in the injury suffered during a training session.

The coach hopes Messi will join Barcelona's La Liga match against Valencia on September 14, but media reports are skeptical.

In a related context, Barcelona denied press reports that Messi will be out of action for another month because of a renewed injury during qualifying training on Tuesday evening, which means his absence from four games in the Spanish league.
