It was in their debut match for the Romanian big club CSM Bucharest this weekend that the bad luck came for Nora Mörk who injured her knee and had to be led by the pitch. After a magnetic camera survey yesterday, it is clear that the Norwegian star has damaged a ligament.

"Today, the player underwent a thorough medical check-up and the result of it was what we all feared: a knee ligament is seriously damaged," CSM Bucharest writes on its website.

The 28-year-old is to be operated on and then awaits rehabilitation for a few months. As a result, she risks missing the World Cup in Japan starting November 30.

Mörk also missed the European Championships last year after first suffering a serious knee injury in February. In September, she suffered a setback when she twisted to the cruciate ligament.

- I can't understand that I'm so unlucky. I am very sorry that this damage happened right now when everything was going well and I was in good shape, says Mörk to Bukarest's website.

Dark left Hungarian Györ for Romanian CSM Bucharest this summer.
