The Dutch volleyball players also won the third group match of the European Championships without losing the set on Monday. The team of national coach Jamie Morrison won in Budapest against Croatia: 25-16, 25-18 and 25-23.
The Orange squad opened the European Championship on Friday with a convincing win over Romania (3-0) and also won against Azerbaijan on Sunday without a set loss. The Netherlands is therefore almost certainly the first place in group C.
The volleyball players close the group stage with matches against Estonia (Tuesday) and host country Hungary (Thursday). The duels will start at 6 p.m. and will be finished in Budapest again.
The Netherlands beat Croatia quite easily, but still got a damper in the first set. Maret Balkestein-Grothues went through her ankle and could not continue the game.
