- It feels like I could have won more. But to win the PGA playoffs again, to fight all year and to give myself chances despite adversities. I'm proud, Rory McIlroy says, according to Reuters when the season is summed up.

The Northern Irish finished with two straight birdies at the East Lake Golf Club outside Atlanta and finished four strokes before chasing Xander Schauffele, 18 under par in total.

The duo fought together with Brooks Koepka on Sunday for the victory and the millions. Koepka led one stroke ahead of McIlroy when he struck out from the first tee but had one unusually bad Sunday and ended five strokes behind the winner.

McIlroy looked shaky as he stood for the bogeys on holes 14 and 15 but got out of the small slump with a long pair-putt on the next hole. With two closing birdies, the victory was then secured.
