MADRID (Reuters) - Colombian star James Rodriguez suffered a right calf injury on Monday, joining Real Madrid's five-man squad.

"After tests carried out today, our player, James Rodriguez, has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his right calf.

Rodriguez played in Real Madrid's 1-1 draw against Valladolid in the second round of La Liga on Saturday, but was replaced in the 57th minute to replace young Brazilian Vinicius Junior.

Rodríguez weighed heavily on Real's injury list, including Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, Rodrigo Joyce and Ibrahim Diaz.

According to press reports, Rodriguez could be out for two to three weeks, meaning he will miss the third round of the Primera Liga match against Villarreal.
