Vitesse said goodbye to Thulani Serero on Sunday. The midfielder signs for two years with Al Jazeera Club from the United Arab Emirates.
The contract of the 29-year-old South Arican continued for another year, it is unknown how high the transfer fee that Al Jazeera pays. The club from the Middle East is trained by Jürgen Streppel, former coach of sc Heerenveen and Willem II, among others.
Vitesse took over Serero in 2017 from Ajax, where he settled in 2011. Serero played 71 games for the Arnhem team, in which the controller scored three runs.
This season, Serero was in the starting line-up twice and he was allowed to come in once. Due to his transfer, he was missing on Saturday from coach Leonid Slutsky, who tied 1-1 against Heracles Almelo.

The 36-time international of South Africa is the eleventh player to leave Vitesse this summer. Earlier the club said goodbye to Maikel van der Werff (FC Cincinnati), Arnold Kruiswijk (stopped), Khalid Karami (Sparta Rotterdam, rented out), Alexander Büttner (no club yet), Jake Clarke-Slater (Birmingham City), Mohammed Dauda (Anderlecht, was rented), Martin Ødegaard (Real Sociedad), Eduardo (Braga), Thomas Bruns (PEC Zwolle, rented) and Rasmus Thelander (Aalborg BK).
There is the arrival of Armando Obispo (PSV, rent), Jay-Roy Grot (Leeds United, rent), Tomás Hájek (Viktoria Plzen), Riechedly Bazoer (VfL Wolfsburg), Oussama Tannane (Saint-Étienne) and Kostas Lamprou (Ajax ) opposite.
Vitesse has eight points after four games, with which the team is currently second in the Eredivisie.
