Defender Patrick Van Anholt scored in injury time to give Crystal Palace a 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League after a modest home performance.

Van Anholt hit a powerful shot against David De Gea after a foul from Paul Pogba, after Daniel James leveled for United in the 89th minute, scoring Palas' first-half lead through Jordan Io.

Io hit the net in the 32nd minute, with Palas punishing United for lack of creativity in midfield and effectiveness in attacking, and Marcus Rashford missed a penalty 20 minutes from time.

Palas were rewarded for their start in the United half when Jeffrey Slob touched goalkeeper Vicente Guayeta's high pass to prepare for Io, who had a solo goal and hit a low shot against De Gea.

As time drew to a close, winger James leveled with a fine shot from inside the penalty area in the upper corner, but the joys of the home fans did not last long as Palas stole the win a few minutes later.

Pogba, who missed a penalty in Monday's 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers, had another poor performance when he lost the ball in the middle of the field and Van Anholt hit a low shot against De Gea.
