In a press release, SHL writes that its board of directors has decided to "ensure financial compensation for lost earnings in connection with national team assignments for the Women's Crown with an annual amount of maximum SEK 400,000 for three years".

"There are still some questions in our discussions with the players and Sico and that, thanks to SHL, we can now solve one of the important parts about compensation also provides good conditions for our continued discussions," says the Swedish ice hockey association chairman Anders Larsson in release.

One year ago, SHL and the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation agreed that SKL would contribute a maximum of SEK 800,000 for the 2018-2019 season for lost earnings for players in the Women's Crowns. Of this money, according to the press release, SEK 350,000 including social security contributions were used. The union announces that the remaining money, SEK 450,000, will be used to further invest in elite development in Swedish women's hockey.
