After five holes, 25-year-old Ridderström was "only" noted for four pairs and a bogey, but an eagle on the sixth hole gained momentum. She followed it up with a birdie and was suddenly involved in the close match.

In total, Louise Ridderström went on 67 strokes, five under par in seventh place, and is only two strokes after leading Annie Park. The Swede is making his first season on the LPGA tour and is now chasing his first top 10 position.

A further five Swedes peg in Aurora, but of them only Linnea Ström can be reasonably satisfied with Thursday's game. Ström went around on 71 strokes, one under par, and is divided 46th. Other Swedes primarily struggle to try to clear the boundary in order to play during the weekend.
