At the Triathlon test tournament held on the 17th of this month, Escherichia coli was detected in seawater at the competition venue in Odaiba Seaside Park, which exceeded twice the standard set by the international competition group, and the paratriathlon swim was canceled.
This is thought to be due to the fact that domestic wastewater that could not be treated due to heavy rains flowed into the competition venue.
Governor Koike explained at the press conference on the 23rd that the screens that had been affixed at this test tournament will be installed in triplicate next year to prevent E. coli from flowing in.
