Russian dance duo Cyril Parshakov - Anna Gudyno with a scandal left the world championship on the Argentine tango, which is taking place these days in Buenos Aires. The organizers decided to disqualify the couple before the final of the competition in the discipline of "stage tango". The reason for this was the incorrect behavior of the partner.
In the semifinals of the tournament, European champions were expected to receive high scores from the judges. Nevertheless, the audience noticed something was amiss: the athletes started cursing right on the stage and both looked extremely annoyed. Later it became known that they were leaving the tournament.
Soon, the Argentine media clarified what happened. It turned out that the quarrel between Parshakov and Gudyno continued behind the scenes. The partner could not restrain his emotions and hit the girl in the face. The incident did not go unnoticed by the organizers, who immediately suspended the duet from further participation in the championship of the planet.
At the same time, the athlete was offered to continue the fight for medals with another partner, and also advised to file a statement with the police. However, she rejected both proposals, as a result of which the couple lost their place in the final, which was confirmed by the head of the Solo Tango orchestra, Irina Peretyatko.
“The performance of this couple was praised by the jury. But one of the organizers noticed how behind the scenes they passionately expressed claims to each other. As a result, it was decided not to let them into the finals for incorrect behavior, ”RIA Novosti quoted Peretyatko as saying.
Later, a video message recorded by both dancers appeared on Parshakov’s Facebook page. In it, they thanked their loved ones and fans for their support and told what role tango plays in their lives. The fact is that athletes are married and raise a child.
“As many of you know, our family appeared thanks to tango. Once we met at the milonga (dance evening. - RT ), we realized that this is exactly the partnership that we dreamed about, and a little later love for each other appeared. A great development was the birth of a wonderful baby. In this regard, for three years we have not had the opportunity to come to Buenos Aires and participate in the World Cup. And finally, we are here again, ”the appeal says.
They explained what happened by fatigue and stress caused by a tight schedule of performances and constant training.
“It so happened that in connection with the tours of the orchestra and our trips to work, music and choreography, we completed it upon arrival in Buenos Aires. Of course, it was training every day until three in the morning, nerves, breakdowns and tears, that much does not work out as we would like ... But we held on and continued to do what we did well, ”said Parshakov.
According to him, despite the praise of the judges, the duo was not satisfied with their semifinal performance, which led to the conflict. At the same time, he emphasized that the organizers who were behind the scenes "misunderstood his emotions."
They lamented that the disqualification interrupted their path to the dream and nullified the difficulties.
“Now, having calmed down a bit and having accepted the situation, we want to encourage all dancers to always control their emotions and work on themselves not only professionally. Because sometimes it can deprive you of the realization of your dreams, ”the athlete added.
The opinions of users of social networks regarding the incident were divided. Some expressed the hope that the duo will cope with all the problems and will become even stronger both in sports and in life. Others advised Gudyno to break off relations with a man who allowed himself to raise his hand against a woman as soon as possible.
Parshakov’s act was also condemned by the Argentine Tango Federation (FAT). Its head, Yuri Deev, noted that the partner did not act like a man, and advised him to solve problems in the family outside the competition.
