17-year-old Anisimova, ranked 24th in the world, got her big senior break when she went to the semi-finals of the French Championships in June after, among other things, knocked out reigning champion Simona Halep, Romania.
Konstantin Anisimov moved from Russia to the United States with his wife in 1998 and three years later her daughter Amanda was born. He coached his daughter every year until his death on Monday.
