Bas Dost seemed fast on his way to Eintracht Frankfurt, but the transition from the Dutch striker is still not complete. His current club Sporting CP blames the striker and his business manager, Gunther Neuhaus.

Frankfurt reported on its own website on Saturday that it was busy attracting the 30-year-old Dost. However, Sporting posted a statement on its own site on Tuesday, condemning the state of affairs regarding the transfer.

"Sporting had reached an agreement in principle with Eintracht Frankfurt, but was surprised by the player's last-minute financial requirements. They prevent the transfer from being completed," the Portuguese said in the statement.

At the time of Dost's transition from VfL Wolfsburg to Sporting in 2016, according to Portuguese media, Neuhaus enforced an agreement in which he received 500,000 euros for each season that Dost was under contract in Lisbon. As the striker still has contact until mid-2021, Neuhaus believes he is entitled to 1 million euros.

Sporting criticizes the way Dost's advocate "exerts media pressure" and claims to be immune to it. "The club knows very well who is putting out fake news and why the press is posting it."

Dost indicated that he wanted to leave Sporting at the end of last season. According to the club there were offers from China, Russia, Turkey and Mexico, which were more financially attractive than the offer from Frankfurt, but Dost did not feel like it.
