Fans of 4x4 routes are almost 'forced' to hire companies specialized in this type of services or, failing that, to know perfectly the terrain to be explored before venturing off the road, which ceases to be an exciting 'exploration route' (with the components of adventure and freedom that this implies) and becomes a guided tour or a mere excursion through a well-known area.

The problem is that the vast majority of GPS navigators that we carry in our cars do not serve to target the open country, since many natural roads, rural roads, serfdom, paths, trails, forest tracks, greenways and livestock are not mapped and do not appear in our serial browser. Only special 4x4 GPS systems that work based on coordinates and checkpoints are useful.

However, Ford has come up with the solution to the problem and has found a way to satisfy the most intrepid and adventurous 4x4 lovers without needing to be experts in orientation techniques. Thanks to a pioneering technology based on the technique 'invented' by Hansel and Gretel to return home when their stepmother left them in the forest, Ford has found a way for the drivers of the new Ford Ranger Raptor to no longer get lost in the field or the mountain and can retrace their steps following the trail of 'bread crumbs'.

This technology has been christened by Ford as Satnav Breadcrumbs (in homage to the Grimm brothers' story) and makes it easier for off-road drivers to find their way back after venturing off the road and no matter how far they are from the 'civilization' '. With this new system, the new Ford Ranger Raptor drops a 'virtual pin' every second so that drivers can more easily return to their starting point without having to memorize reference points or worry about tracking marks.

"Whether for work or for pure adventure, the new Raptor loves being taken off the road, " says Leo Roeks , director of Ford Performance. "Navigation with 'bread crumbs' or 'breadcrumbs' is a simple but effective way to help drivers know exactly how to maintain their route no matter where they are," explains Roeks.

The Ford Ranger is the most popular pickup in Europe, with more than 26,700 units sold in the first half of 2019 . Developed by Ford Performance, the new Ranger Raptor is designed to overcome the toughest off-road terrain in the world. Equipped with a biturbo version of the Ford 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine and with a competition suspension with FOX shock absorbers, the Ranger Raptor is already on sale throughout Europe and its price starts from 56,250 euros without promotional discounts or rebates Taxes for freelancers.
