Four Swedish national team players will play in the German Bundesliga this year. In addition to already established Emil Forsberg in Leipzig, Robin Quaison in Mainz, Sebastian Anderson in the new Union Berlin and (injured) Ludwig Augustinsson in Werder Bremen. Add to that former national team man Oscar Wendt in Mönchengladbach and there is some interest in the Bundesliga captain Janne Andersson to check out the Bundesliga this year.

It is possible that FC Cologne is back in the finals, but that the former East German big team Union (Dynamo) Berlin has now struggled in the highest league is remarkable. The team has been playing national team striker Sebastian Andersson since last year and on Sunday it will be an interesting "East German" meeting when Emil Forsberg's RP (Lokomotiv) Leipzig comes to the old eastern parts of Berlin to meet Union.

The fact that Bayern Munich is the team everyone wants to beat is old. The team has not significantly strengthened, but has a squad that goes a long way. Last year, worthy Dortmund challenged for a long time and is well the main opponent this season as well. National team back Mats Hummels has returned after a few years with Bayern. Eintracht Frankfurt made a good year, but has lost their best players. RB Leipzig has basically the same team, but can hardly keep up all the way to the two big ones.
