The conditions were not the best for IFK Norrköping ahead of the away match against Hapoel Beer Sheva in the third round of the European Qualifiers. The undated result 1–1 at home meant that Norrköping had to score goals in Israel.

And sure enough, Norrköping started well but lost gradually to end the first half well again. But you did not get any really toxic target chance.

In the second half the Israelis drummed on and in the middle of the half came the two goals that put a stop to Norrköping's dreams of many millions to the club box office.

Two quick goals by Hapoel Beer Sheva

First, Niv Zrihan put 1–0 in the 67th minute on a distinct shot with the left up in the far post. Five minutes later, Ramzi Safouri fired a long shot that hit the bar and Nigel Hasselbaink was fast between two Norrköping defenders and poked the return into the open goal.

On both goals, Norrköping's goalkeeper Isak Pettersson was completely scoreless.

But with eight minutes left, the hopes of Beijing fans were still aroused when Rasmus Lauritsen nodded in 1-2 and Norrköping needed just one more goal to move on to more goals. However, such a thing did not happen, instead Zrihan put 3-1 from a minimal angle at extra time.
