Today, the first medals will be awarded in the orienteering World Cup when the long distance is decided in Norwegian Östfold (will be sent directly in SVT1 starting 13.30).

Tove Alexandersson, who came second in yesterday's medal distance selection, is in search of his fourth straight gold in the long distance.

- It will be very tough physically. It is quite heavy forest, very blueberry rice and undergrowth and quite high altitudes. But we are used to it, it is quite similar to the Swedish terrain we have at home, ”she tells SVT Sport.

The Swede was very impressed when she crushed all competitors in the O-ring in July. But if she's in the shape of her life, she can't really answer.

- It is possible, it is difficult to compare as an orienteering because we run on different courses in different terrain. But I feel absolutely in great shape.

Bergman fights for medal

Gustav Bergman, also second in yesterday's medal distance selection, runs for the medal in today's race. The Swede leads the World Cup after two wins in Finland in June. He then renounced the O-ring so as not to be worn out before the World Cup.

- It feels good. It's a new situation for me (to lead the World Cup), I've never done that before, it feels exciting.

Does it give you confidence or pressure?

- It's a bit both. Obviously, I have greater expectations based on what I had in the past, but I do not think I have greater expectations myself than before. The pressure that really means something I think is about the same as before. Then it feels great that I have good results in my back.
