FC Bayern finally got the desired offensive reinforcement with Ivan Perisic on Tuesday. The thirty-year-old winger is rented from Internazionale for a year, with an option to purchase.
"Ivan will help us immediately with his international top level experience," said technical director Hasan Salihamidzic on the Bayern site. "He has good technique and can be used flexibly in the attack. I am sure he will feel at home soon, since he knows the Bundesliga and our coach Niko Kovac well."
The German champion had long been looking for replacements for wing attackers Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben, who left Munich this summer after long employment.
Bayern was interested in Manchester City player Leroy Sané, but the German suffered a major knee injury a week and a half ago. The 'Rekordmeister' was also related to Hakim Ziyech, but the playmaker extended his contract with Ajax last week.
Perisic played between 2011 and 2015 in the Bundesliga on behalf of Borussia Dortmund and VfL Wolfsburg. In the summer of 2015, the 82-time international from Croatia switched to Internazionale for around 19 million euros, where he achieved 37 goals in four seasons in 141 league matches.
Bayern starts the new Bundesliga season on Friday with a home game against Hertha BSC.
