Edgar Miguel Ié seems to be the third defensive reinforcement for Feyenoord. The 25-year-old defender is in Rotterdam to complete his transfer to the current number twelve of the Eredivisie.
Feyenoord leases Ié for a season from the Turkish Trabzonspor, Voetbal International reports Tuesday.
The single Portuguese international, born in Guinea-Bissau, played in the youth of Sporting Lisbon and made his debut in professional football at FC Barcelona B. After that he also played for Villarreal B, the Portuguese Belenenses and Lille and Nantes from France.
Ié, who can play central or right in defense, switched to Trabzonspor transfer-free this summer, but the Turkish club wants to rent it out immediately.
Feyenoord recorded defenders George Johnston (Liverpool) and mercenary Rick Karsdorp (AS Roma) last week. In contrast, the departure of mercenary Cuco Martina and Jeremiah St. Juste (FSV Mainz 05).
Feyenoord left for Georgia without Ié on Tuesday, where Jaap Stam's team played the return against Dinamo Tbilisi on Thursday in the third preliminary round of the Europa League. The team from Rotterdam won the first game last week with 4-0.
