For 27-year-old Yolanda Ngarambe, 1500 m is the most likely distance in the autumn World Cup, as 3000 m is not included in the program, but the win at the Team Championship indicates that Ngarambe is a championship runner to count on.

- To beat a World Cup qualifier, you often have a hare that pulls up the tempo, but you do not have that in a championship as a team European Championship. There, the tactical is put to the test, so it was a very useful race this weekend which she performed very well, says the federation captain Torneklint.

To take a World Cup place, Yolanda needs to refine her results at 1500 m by a couple of tenths, then she can pass the World Cup qualification limit of 4.06.50. If she does not succeed, she can still be invited by the World Cup organizer IAAF.

- It is tough and hard to qualify so I would think that Yolanda will make two, three attempts to take the World Cup qualifying limit, says Torneklint.

This means that the competitions Ngarambe sets up in August will be highly interesting - including Finnkampen (24-25 August) which SVT broadcasts.

- There are about 40 runners taken out and not so many have passed the fast World Cup qualifier limit, runners are invited, says Torneklint, pointing out that it can be about both the best of the year but also that countries that do not have so many active can get a place for that reason.

Torneklint believes that Ngarambe, Lovisa Lindh and Kalle Berglund have a good chance of receiving an invitation to the World Cup, even if they do not pass their World Cup qualifying limits. The World Cup competes in Doha, Qatar and runs between 28 September and 6 October.
