AS Monaco confirmed on Sunday the transfer of 16-year-old Hannibal Mejbri to England's Manchester United, who reportedly paid 10 million euros to buy back his contract, according to various media and sources close to the case.
Mejbri, born in January 2003, arrived in Monaco in August 2018 after passing through the youth teams of Paris FC and AC Boulogne-Billancourt, in the Paris region. Last spring, there was a conflict between the player's family and the Monaco club over the contract of the young midfielder, who was playing with the U17 Monegasque team. As a result, the young player's entourage wanted him to leave the Principality.
