Rick Karsdorp will be directly in the starting line-up at Feyenoord on Sunday, which starts at 2.30 pm in the away match against sc Heerenveen. Wouter Burger also gets a base place from trainer Jaap Stam.

Leroy Fer and Bart Nieuwkoop lose their place against Thursday's 4-0 win against Dinamo Tbilisi in the preliminary round of the Europa League. Fer does not even belong to the race selection, he gets a break in the run-up to Thursday's return in Georgia.

The 24-year-old Karsdorp was rented by Feyenoord this week for one season from AS Roma, which took over the right back two years ago from the Rotterdam team. Partly due to injury, his period in Italy was not a success.

Another acquisition from Feyenoord, George Johnston, who was taken over from Liverpool this week, starts as a substitute in the Abe Lenstra Stadium.

Eighteen-year-old midfielder Burger was also in the starting line-up last Sunday, when Feyenoord started the Eredivisie with a 2-2 tie with Sparta. The equalizer of Sam Larsson only fell deep in injury time.

Heerenveen started last week with a resounding 0-4 victory over Heracles Almelo in the Eredivisie. Heerenveen-Feyenoord will be led by Jochem Kamphuis on Sunday afternoon.

Heerenveen setup: Hahn; Floranus, Dresevic, Botman, Woudenberg; Bruijn, Faik, Kongolo; Ejuke, Odgaard, Van Bergen.

Setup Feyenoord: Vermeer; Karsdorp, Botteghin, Van der Heijden, Haps; Kökcü, Burger, Sinisterra, Berghuis, Larsson.
