Serena Williams is final in the Rogers Cup and in the second semifinal of the night, Bianca Andreescu won over American Sofia Kenin in two straight sets with 6-4, 7-6 (5).

The tournament in Toronto is her first since the French Open in June when she hurt her shoulder. Right now she is playing with a heavily taped right thigh, an injury that, among other things, forced her to a break in yesterday's quarterfinals.

- I have been through so much for the past two months and am so happy to be back on the track, says an emotional Andreescu.

- I was so very, very nervous before the match and right now I just want to cry with happiness. I would say this is even bigger than when I won at Indian Wells, she says, referring to her breakthrough in March.

Teenage Andreescu, ranked 27th in the world, is the first women's player from Canada to reach the final of the Rogers Cup since 1969. That time, two Canadian men met in the final, Faye Urban and Vicky Berner.

The final will also be Andreescu's first meeting ever with Serena Williams.
