Yolanda Ngarambe made a big break during the indoor season earlier this year. She beat the Swedish record at an English mile and qualified for three distances to the European Championships in Glasgow in March.

During the Polish European Championships tonight, she also showed that she can perform outdoors. At 3,000 meters she won the entire race after an impressive run. At 9.07.67 she ran just over half a second before second Marta Zenoni from Italy and Andreia Solange Pereira from Spain.

The result means that Sweden picked up an important twelve-point in the summary.
