I will give you another news of the Tokyo Olympics. We reported yesterday that the Korean Sports Association protested the IOC that Japan marked Dokdo as their land on the Olympic Organizing Committee homepage. The IOC said it would continue to discuss with Japan to change the map.

I'm a reporter.

A small dot is displayed on the north side of the Oki Islands in Shimane prefecture on the route of the torch.

Because there are no other islands in this area other than Dokdo, Dokdo became a clear Japanese territory.

As this issue emerged as a sharp conflict between Korea and Japan, the IOC was determined to resolve.

In response to the SBS, the IOC said, "I understand that Japan has marked Dokdo as its territory," and said it will continue to discuss the matter with the Tokyo Organizing Committee.

To prevent further controversy, it is actually meant to persuade the Japanese side.

In fact, the IOC accepted Japan's demands at the PyeongChang Olympics last month and requested that the Dokdo mark be removed from the Korean peninsula at the opening ceremony, and South Korea accepted it on a grand scale.

Because of this, our government will strongly demand that Dokdo notation be deleted.

[Understanding Sports / Letters Division, International Sports Division: The Dokdo issue is a letter to the IOC or JOC and the issue continues to be raised until it is resolved.]

However, it is unknown whether the IOC will take effective sanctions if Japan enforces Dokdo until the end.
