The revolt around the US World Cup team does not seem to want to settle in the US after the gold in France.

The national team is currently on a so-called victory tour in their home country after the success of the football World Cup - and is now well on the way to setting a new audience record in a friendly context.

On August 29, the United States meets Portugal in Philadelphia and, according to the American Football Association's website, more than 40,000 tickets have already been sold. The previous record was set after the 2015 US World Cup gold when 44,028 fans saw the Americans run across Costa Rica with 8-0 in Pittsburgh.

In the first match of the ongoing victory tour, the United States won against Ireland 3-0 to a total of 37,040 spectators in Pasadena, California.

Lincoln Financial Field, where the meeting with Portugal will be played, has an audience capacity of about 69,000 spectators.
