When AIK played its return game against Maribor in the Champions League qualification last week, it became very uneasy at the stand. Among other things, masked home supporters jumped over the fence on the long side and took over the entire long side against the Slovenian fans.

In the next Europe match, the return against Moldovan Sheriff, AIK looks to have significantly fewer supporters in the heels than against Maribor. AIK announced today that the police have only granted permission for 2,750 at Norra Stå, compared to 4,000 normally.

"Ask us a little question"

But the explanation that AIK has received is not that it has to do with the chaos scenes from last week.

- Orally, they have declared that there are people on the stairs, which would obstruct space. And we ask ourselves a little about this because it is not an indication we have been attributed to before. And we do not see what has happened from one match to another, but it came very suddenly, says the club's ticket manager Fredrik Söderberg.

"There are no reasons"

And that, despite the oral explanation (AIK has not yet seen any written justification), would be about the Maribor incident, Söderberg does not believe himself:

- Actually, I can't imagine it has. For the individual event, it does not feel that it would be affected by a capacity reduction. The task of the police is to give us permission for a capacity which we consider to be capable of handling as an organizer to make a safe and secure event, and the kind of disorder which was at the Friends Arena in the Maribor match has in no way been especially frequent - but on the contrary very unusual, he says, and continues:

- There is no reason for a capacity reduction, because it would not affect such an event.

Is this something that you will try to bring about a change?

- Yes, we will not still accept it, but ask very much about the decision. Of course, we want to hear a motivation from the police, and so we have to take it from there. But such a drastic reduction in capacity as it is cannot be done without strong reasons.
