Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel, the first three of the Hungarian Grand Prix, remembered Fernando Alonso at the official press conference, after the Asturian world champion was writing a message congratulating the first two and remembering that they had surpassed in more than a minute to the third.

In a curious and ultimately fun press conference, to which Hamilton (Mercedes), leading World Cup leader, arrived late, he and Verstappen (Red Bull) were asked about the message Alonso had written in his account Twitter, which read: "Bravo, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, throwing 70 laps to the maximum. More than a minute on the third and with more than a half and a half to the 'top 5.' Impressive both. Thanks for the show." For the first time in quite some time, Alonso showed enthusiasm and admiration for a Formula 1 that he abandoned due to lack of motivation. A text thanked by English and Dutch, but that did not seem to make Vettel (Ferrari) so funny.

At the end of the official press conference of the FIA (International Automobile Federation), one of those present asked Hamilton and Verstappen for the words of Spanish and if they would like to see him again competing in the queen category.

"It's spectacular that Alonso supports us that way," Hamilton said. "I still remember his spectacular outings with Renault , I loved seeing him before I was an F1 driver. The truth is that I don't know how old he is," the Briton added, after achieving his 81st victory in Formula 1, eighth of the year and seventh in Hungary. "But if you want to return, you are welcome, although the fact that I return or not is indifferent," added the Englishman, who leads the World Cup with 250 points, 62 more than his teammate Valtteri Bottas.

Verstappen replied that "it was a shame" that in the previous years "he could not" face Alonso, due to the low potential of his cars last seasons. At that time he was interrupted by his classmates, who told him to do everything possible to get Fernando into his team, one of many rumors that circulated through the 'paddock' during the last races.

"Must have a lot of free time"

They also joked that, by age, Alonso - who has just turned 38 - could be his father, to which Max, 21, and after thinking for a few moments, replied: "Can you be a father with 17?" .

Then it was Vettel's turn to talk about Alonso. "I think I never liked him. I don't know why, I always had a lot of respect for him," the German admitted. "I suppose he must have a lot of free time now, to devote himself to putting those messages," he added.

He then took the word Verstappen again, to point out that with him, Alonso "was always kind". "I know he is now facing new sporting challenges. And I hope he does very well," Verstappen settled.
