South Korea's women's volleyball team missed the ticket to next year's Tokyo Olympic Games after suffering an overwhelming loss at the end of a full set battle with Russia in fifth place in the world.

Kim Yu-kyung, Lee Jae-young, Kim Hee-jin and the triangle squad swept the team from the beginning, raising the momentum by dropping a set or two.

In the third set, however, Kim Yeon-kyung's striker was caught in a high-flying blockade in Russia, and was caught in the rash.

In the last five sets, the national team was up 11 to 11, but with 11 out of 15 in the last round of uneasiness, it was unfortunate that it was 2 wins and 1 loss to the Russia which won the Tokyo Olympic Games next year in 3 consecutive wins.

The national team will once again challenge tickets to Tokyo in the Asian qualifiers in January next year.
