"He was a real man"

A farewell ceremony was held in Peterhof with Russian boxer Maxim Dadashev. He died on July 23 after a battle with Puerto Rican Sabriel Matias. Brain injuries sustained by an athlete in this fight turned out to be incompatible with life, and he died two days later after he was put into a state of artificial coma.

At the same time, Dadashev's body was delivered home only on August 1. Sending delayed due to difficulties with the documents.

Friends, colleagues and fans of the athlete came to say goodbye to the boxer. Among them was the world champion in the light heavyweight division according to the WBA version Dmitry Bivol, who trained with Dadashev in St. Petersburg.

“Maxim was a man who, to the last, was proving his in the ring and in life. Of course, I can not believe what happened. He was a real man, always trying to confirm his words with deeds. Such qualities in our world do not happen to anyone. Max will be missed. I personally - as a friend, comrade. Rest in peace, Max, ”said Bivol at the farewell ceremony.

The manager Dadashev Egis Klimas, who worked with a talented boxer for several years and contributed to the successful promotion of the ward in the United States, spoke out.

“The man knew his goal and went to her. And there was one goal - to become a champion, to put a family on its feet. For any coach, he was not a boxer, but a dream: the first to come to the gym, the last to leave ... He was aiming for a goal, went to her. He had strong rivals, and he always wanted to box with the best. He said he was ready to fight champions, ”said the functionary.

Dzhambulat Mutaev, deputy head of the St. Petersburg Boxing Federation, attended the funeral.

“It was a bright, cheerful person. He left his mark in boxing. Now young people, young men repeat after him. He was smiling, never let anyone lose heart, he always joked. But at the same time he was collected, he did not give coaches a reason for the negative, ”says Sport-Express Mutaev.

According to the functionary, Dadashev not only had a lot of talent, but also enjoyed boxing.

“I know few such people. Simple interesting guy who always smiled and gave a smile to others. We all saw with what great pleasure he did his job. Ordinary people do not get to the USA, the most talented people are chosen there, Americans just don’t throw money away, ”added Mutaev.

"The referee did not even bother to call the doctor to the ring"

Meanwhile, the widow of Dadashev Elizaveta Apushkina still believes that her husband could be saved, but the negligence of the organizers of the battle prevented her from doing so. She does not hide the desire to sue the Athletic Commission of the State of Maryland.

“The referee not only didn’t stop the fight almost to the very end, but didn’t even consider it necessary to call a doctor into the corner for an examination. Everyone noticed that the trainer on the video, circled the Internet, shouting: “Max enough! Max, a lot! Stop the fight! ” My husband seems to hear him, but he does not understand anything! Absolutely everyone noticed this, except the referee, the coach and the doctors! You can hear the fans from the front row shouting: “Stop the fight!”. But again, no one heard, "- quotes a woman" Sport-Express ".

Also, according to her, Dadashev was not provided with the necessary medical assistance after the end of the battle.

“After the duel was stopped in the ring, the stretcher was not carried out, they didn’t put ice on Maxim’s head, he was forced to walk independently, although his legs were already weak and he was hanging on the hands of people helping him. And in the case of such injuries minutes decide everything. Every extra movement can cost life, ”Apushkina explained.

At the same time, the boxer's widow categorically denied the information about the serious health problems that he allegedly had, which made it impossible to enter the ring.

“Maxim until 2016 was in the main part of the Russian national boxing team, is the repeated winner of the national championships, played at international games. Do you really think that dozens of commissions passed by him before the competitions would not reveal a serious disease, and would he be allowed to fight? Although there are really questions about the survey before the final battle, ”Apushkina admitted.

Meanwhile, the Athletic Commission of the State of Maryland, a few days after Dadashev’s death, promised to conduct a full investigation of all the circumstances of the incident. And in the Russian Boxing Federation called the list of violations committed by the organizers of the battle.

“The authenticity of medical documents has not been verified. No first aid was provided in the ring (there was no ice and other things). There were no special medical stretchers around the ring, as a result of which Dadashev walked from the ring to the exit himself, which is unacceptable according to the rules of international boxing organizations, ”quotes the head of the FBI Umar Kremlev R-Sport.

As a result, the lawyers of the federation, together with Dadashev’s widow, decided to prepare a lawsuit on two points: insufficient verification of the authenticity of the boxer's health documents and violation of the rules for providing medical care.
