Schippers had run a reasonable time of 11.15 seconds earlier in the series on Sunday. The Dutch didn't have a good start in that heat, but it did have a strong finish.

In the final she came up too early from the starting block. The Diamond League in London was her last match for a while. This season she has 11.04 as the best time in the 100 meters.

The win in the Olympic Stadium went to the Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who scored 10.78. The British Dina-Asher Smith jumped to second place in 10.92.

The Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou finished third and also stayed under 11 seconds: 10.98.
