Doctors still do not give any predictions about the state of the Russian boxer Maxim Dadashev, who underwent emergency surgery after the fight with Puerto Rican Subriel Matias. In the course of the surgery, which lasted about two hours, a 28-year-old athlete was trepanned and a skull fragment was removed.

Dadashev is still in critical condition due to the numerous blows to the head, received during the battle for the title of the mandatory challenger for the IBF championship. After the fight, Dadashev was urgently taken to the hospital at the University of Maryland.

However, relatives and fans of Russians have reason to be optimistic. He managed to avoid the worst possible developments and remained in a stable position thanks to the efforts of neurosurgeon Mary Cobb. This was announced by one of his coaches Donatas Janushevichus.

“Now Maxim is in critical condition, but the doctors said that he is stable. We know that the hemorrhage is stopped, there is no more brain edema. So some positive news still appeared. Let's hope for the best and pray for him, ”ESPN journalist Steve Kim quotes a specialist.

After the operation, Dadashev was put into the state of a medical coma. For the next few days, doctors will observe the athlete's body's response to surgery and the drugs administered to prevent edema. Also, the boxer is waiting for re-examination for other serious brain damage, reported in The Washington Post.

According to Yanushevichyus and the main trainer Dadashev Buddy McGirt, who discussed their charge with Cobb, there are many cases when people who survived the same damage, then almost completely recovered and returned to normal life. At the same time, the option is not excluded that for this Dadashev will need to stay in the hospital for the next few months.

In addition to the fact that the Russian at the end of the battle missed a lot of punches, his body was overworked and dehydrated, which resulted in aggregate to such serious consequences. According to McGuirth, he regularly gave water to Dadashev in the intervals between rounds, but he spat everything out.

McGirt wanted to end the fight long before the 11th round, but the athlete refused to give up and admit defeat. Some time after the duel, a video appeared in the network, in which the coach asked Dadashev to stop and take care of his health.

“I will stop the fight, I will stop. Max, you miss too much. You miss too much. Please, Max, let me do this, okay? Look at me, please. You miss too much. If I do not do it, the referee will do it. You understand me? If I don’t do it, the referee will do it, please. Max, please come on, ”McGirt said in the last minutes before Dadashev felt extremely bad and left the ring with someone else's help.

According to the former coach Dadashev Ruslan Dotayev, the boxer always had a great desire to win and patience, which could be the reason for his refusal to end the fight with Matthias.

“Maxim has crazy volitional qualities. I think he endured to the last. This is a real athlete with a capital letter, with a huge love for boxing, with the most positive ambitions. He is devoted to boxing, lives them and has made a really small story, having gone to America and reached this level completely independently. Dadashev spent all the fights without fake rivals, always boxing with those who were ranked higher by rating and number of battles, ”said a specialist in Channel Five.

In the near future, his wife will come to Dadashev from Russia. She is expected to meet her spouse next Tuesday, July 23rd.
