Frenchman Enzo Lefort became foil world champion, surpassing the British Marcus Mepstead (15-6) in the Budapest final, succeeding Philippe Omnès, the last Frenchman crowned in the World Championship in 1990.

Bronze medalist at the 2014 World Championships in Kazan, Russia, Lefort took the bronze medal at the European Championships in Düsseldorf (Germany) a month ago. With this title he brings his second podium to France, after the money won by Pauline Ranvier in the same weapon Friday night.
