Simona Halep won Wimbledon for the first time in her career on Saturday. The Romanian was far too strong for Serena Williams in a one-sided final of the Grand Slam tournament in London.

The game at the Center Court lasted less than an hour: 6-2 and 6-2. The 37-year-old Williams failed to match Margaret Court's record number of Grand Slam titles. The now 76-year-old Australian tennis legend won a Grand Slam tournament in singles 24 times between 1963 and 1973.

The men's final is scheduled for Sunday and will take place between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Record winner Federer has won Wimbledon for the ninth time.
