The story of the transfer of the attacker Denis Cheryshev to Valencia has come to an end. The Spanish club has announced the signing of a full-fledged contract with a player of the Russian national team until 2022. Last season, he was already in favor of “bats” on loan, while the rights to it belonged to “Villarreal”.

The former club of Cheryshev was not interested in him returning after the end of the rental agreement, calculated until this summer. Last season, the position of the Russians was already taken, and the head coach Javier Calleja did not count on the attacker, occasionally suffering from injuries.

This injury had a great influence on the further career of Cheryshev. In "Villarreal" finally abandoned plans to keep the Russians in their possession, and "Valencia" had a reason to bargain for the participant of last year's world championship.
Initially, the Spanish media reported that the club could take advantage of the player’s priority redemption for € 7-10 million. However, this price seemed to the management of Valencia overestimated. The club was considering the option of renting a player for another season, but Villarreal was determined to sell Cheryshev.
Since no other club claimed it, and the Russian himself was ready to stay, Villarreal agreed to the terms of Valencia. According to Mediterráneo de Castellón, the new Cheryshev club paid € 5.5 million for the transfer. At the same time, according to Transfermarkt, the player’s market value is € 6-7 million.
The agreement reached was announced at the end of June, but at the same time Valencia did not provide details of the contract with Cheryshev. The club continued to negotiate, following the player’s recovery dynamics. Only two weeks later, the parties shook hands. “Valencia” demonstrated how important Cheryshev is for it, having established serious compensation. To buy out his contract will turn out to be only for € 80 million - so much foreign clubs have not yet evaluated a single Russian football player.
