Real Madrid announced that French coach Zinedine Zidane left
Camp season preparation team in Canada, and returned urgently to the capital Madrid.

"Zidane will be absent from the camp for the new season in Montreal for personal reasons," he said.

The club's statement said assistant coach David Petoney would take charge of the camp until Zidane returned.

"The Royal" did not specify a date for Zidane's return, but the newspaper "AS" quoted sources with the team that the coach will return before the friendly confrontation against Bayern Munich on the 21st of this month in Houston.

The 29-man Real Madrid team arrived last Tuesday in the Canadian city of Montreal, the first of its overseas stations during the preparation period for the new season, which will include participation in the International Champions League friendly.

The club will meet Arsenal on 24 January in Landover, and then at Atletico Madrid on the 27th of that month in New Jersey.
