Roger Federer wants to play his own game against Rafael Nadal in his semi-final on Wimbledon on Friday. The Swiss does not intend to go through all sorts of tactics prior to the party.

"I know a lot about his game, but he also knows a lot about my tennis," Federer said after being told that Nadal is his opponent in the semi-final.

"So for two days I can deal with tactics like crazy or I can say: it's grass tennis, so I go outside and play my own game."

The 37-year-old Federer was too strong for the Japanese Kei Nishikori in four sets on Wednesday. 33-year-old Nadal settled in three sets with American Sam Querrey.

Nadal won previous confrontation at Wimbledon in thriller

The last time the two met at Wimbledon was in the 2008 final. At that time, the Mallorcan was too strong for the twenty-time Grand Slam winner in a thriller and kept his rival from the Wimbledon title for the first time in six years. .

The winner of the match between Federer and Nadal will play against defending champion Novak Djokovic or Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut in the final battle.

Federer can win Wimbledon for the ninth time. He won the tournament earlier in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2017. Nadal took the title on the London grass in 2008 and 2010.
