According to TASS, citing representatives of the organizing committee of the world championship, the ceremony of handing Cafu a symbolic ambassador's T-shirt, was held in his hometown, Sao Paulo.
The 49-year-old Cafu is a two-time world champion. As part of the Brazilian national team, he won the tournament won in 1994 and 2002.
World Championship in Qatar will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022. Matches of the tournament will be held in seven cities - Doha, Lusile, Al-Wakre, Al-Hore, Al-Ryan, Umm-Salale and Madinat ash-Shamal.
