Feyenoord lost Tonny Vilhena to FK Krasnodar on Thursday. The 24-year-old midfielder signs a contract for several years with the Russian top club.

Krasnodar does not make any statements on the club's website about the exact duration of the contract and the transfer fee and will only announce this when all formalities have been completed.

Both VI , the AD and De Telegraaf reported earlier on Thursday that Feyenoord received an amount of around 9 million euros for Vilhena, who was only a year in De Kuip.

On Wednesday RTV Rijnmond reported that the negotiations between Feyenoord and Krasnodar had stopped, because both parties could not agree on the transfer fee, but one day later they found each other.

Vilhena has played for Feyenoord all his life. He made his debut in January 2012 in the first team and since then has played 258 official games, scoring 41 goals.

Vilhena won five prizes with Feyenoord

Vilhena won a total of five prizes with Feyenoord. He won the national title once (2016/2017 season), twice the TOTO KNVB cup (2015/2016 and 2017/2018) and twice the Johan Cruijff Scale (2018 and 2019).

The left leg is still enjoying a vacation after the trip with the Dutch national team to Portugal for the final round of the Nations League and will then travel to Russia to sign with Krasnodar.

Krasnodar finished third behind the champion Zenit St Petersburg and Lokomotiv Moscow last season in the Russian Premier League and will therefore enter the third heat of the Champions League in just over a month.

Vilhena is the third basic player of the past season that leaves Feyenoord. Robin van Persie previously ended his career and Jordy Clasie returned to Southampton after being hired.

Interim technical director Sjaak Troost did succeed in extending the contracts of Nicolai Jørgensen and Jens Toornstra and recording third goalkeeper Nick Marsman (FC Utrecht).
